This series of posters, commissioned by the OCOG (Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games), illustrates the twenty-one sports on the program of the Games of the XXIst Olympiad. The Graphic and Design Council therefore preferred photography to drawing, which the artist's subjectivity could have influenced. It was therefore in search of authenticity and with well-defined criteria that the members of the OCOG visited the Olympic facilities in Munich and chose twenty-one slides from nearly 200,000 photos. Each photo had to be able to be enlarged and reproduced, to illustrate movements which respected the rules and techniques of the illustrated sport, and to be as spectacular as possible.
