You are bidding on a great, vintage CONSUMER REPORTS  magazine from the mid 20th century.   This July 1958 issue is a fun old RARE edition, and it is complete with a lot of products from mid-century America.  It's got some great stuff inside for 20th century history fans.  These magazines are filled with great historical information and period stories from over 60 years ago.   Great stuff.

THE CAR DETROIT SHOULD BE BUILDING:
Henry Dreyfuss, on of America's foremost industrial designers call on the auto industry to stop serving up "Four-wheeled juke-boxes". He suggests specific steps Detroit can take to create cars "built around human beings"

TUBE AND TRANSISTOR PORTABLE RADIOS:
Among 29 hand bag size sets tested, the transistor models generally out-performed the tube sets in both  tone quality and speech intelligibility

LAWN SPRINKLERS:
CU's engineers tested 23 models for rate and uniformity of water application; two were very good in both respects

TWIN-LENS CAMERAS:
A report on 20 models, priced from $20 to $215. CU found at least one very good camera to suit nearly every budget and nearly every level of skill, from tyro to professional

NEW IN HI-FI:
The Ionovac T 3500 was judged the finest -- and most disappointing - tweeter CU has ever encountered

BATTERY-POWERED RECORDER:
The Teltape Recorder falls far short of its manufacturer's superlatives

WASH AND WEAR:
Tests of three men's suits made by Haspel

RAMBLER AMERICAN AND FORD CONSUL:
Road tests of two cars priced near $2000, compact enough to be called "small" but still large enough to carry five people - with a little squeezing

SEMI-GLOSS PAINTS: 
One of the less expensive of 12 widely sold brands earned the only check-rating in tests for performance factors affecting ease of application and appearance on the wall 

CU'S FOOD REPORT:
Price was no guide to quality among the 29 brands of fruit cocktail and 36 brands of catsup tested

TACKLE BOXES:
Numerous types are available; CU lists 25 boxes classified according to the special needs of different anglers

AEROSOL HAIR SPRAYS:
Several women have become ill from inhaling the mist of these hair sprays; the FDA is investigating

ADOLESCENCE:
Information designed to help parents as well as youngsters survive the teens with a minimum of battle scars

ECONOMICS FOR CONSUMERS:
