This rug version (probably manufactured by the Danish textile maker Ege) features the H.C. Andersen paper cutout work known as Miller with Two Ole Lukojes. Evidently Hans had a thing for mills, which adorned the Danish landscape in profusion, and also had a passion for the mythical Danish version of the sandman, Ole Lukoje. In this work of art, two Ole Lukojes appear almost as children themselves, holding umbrellas with beautiful imagery underneath, shown to well-behaved children as they drifted off to sleep. Weird enough? That Hans was practically Surreal.
You could frame this textile rug or have a hanging structure attached. Perfect for a lucky child's room if you want to introduce her or him to both Hans Christian Andersen and Andy Warhol. Measures approx. 34" x 32".  Pair it with the actual art prints or search for the other Warhol-Andersen rugs. It is 'signed' Warhol in the weave. Probably wool but not sure. Warhol's Andersen tribute was created late in his life, in homage to a man who also had the youthful sensibilities of a child.
