This listing is for a unique shape of sugar scuttle in an ornate pattern of bows and bell flowers.

This antique silver plated piece looks like a tiny formal purse.  It was patterned after a coal bin.

The shovel or scoop for the sugar is missing from the loop on the back.

It measures 6 1/4" X 5 1/2" X 3 1/4" and weighs almost a pound.  It shows usage, as pictured, but no wear of the silver plating through to the base metal.

It is marked on the base with the John Dixon & Sons logo of a crown, bugle and flag, J D & S,

EPBM, and 8947 (shape number).

Also, there are hand written letters, symbols and numbers, which may indicate artist, formula, or former owner.
