Antique English inkwell Celebrating 60 years of Queen Victoria's reign in the year 1897 and marked on reverse The base is made from brass and is silver plated  Her Majesty's crown is hinged and lifts to reveal the ink chamber with the original glass insert (loss to edge) The base has been cast to create a pen rest on all four sides to rest ones ink dip pen The backside of the bust is cast with the following " Victorian Regina / 60 Years / 1897 "  The underside has the English design registration number 292192, which enables us to date it to 1897. The silversmith's have also signed the base, L & W for Lee & Wigfull and EP for Electro-Plated.  Condition: Great antique condition with wear consistent with age of piece. The original glass inkwell is present but was broken and reglued with some missing edges. Engraved: PRESENTED TO H SCATCHERD WINNER OF THE ONE MILE HANDICAP WEST RIDING GROUNDS JUNE 21ST 1897.
