Mátyás Rákosi, born Rosenberg (1892-1971), was de-facto Soviet governor of Hungary from 1947 to 1956, and a communist mass-murderer.
The stamps depict Rákosi in staged encounters with farmers and workers, and a benign-looking portrait.
