This is a beautiful vintage fine linen handkerchief with Madeira Embroidery.
Blue embroidery on white linen.
With initial "P."
Applique flowers, embroidered leaves and french dots.
The leaves are accented with "shadow" embroidery - blue embroidery on the back to show through the semi-sheer linen. Very lovely and intricate.
UNUSED.
The original sticker is intact, and it reads:
"LINEN
Hand Embroidered with Cotton
Madeira Portugal"
Measures 13 1/2" square.
In perfect, pristine condition. It had been stored in a box of mementos since the 1950s.
I have TWO available - they are identical, and both unused.
