John H Beadle was a member of the Mormon expedition across the United
States to the American West. He made notes and reports on the excursion and
ultimately published a fascinating work on every aspect of the trip. Beadle
includes a full-account of the Mountain Meadow Massacre, countering Native
Americans, descriptions of terrain, and much more. His book ‘Life in Utah’ has become one of the most
prominent anti-Mormon books from the 19th-century. According to the
