First edition 1956 made by REAMSA about Roman legion and gladiators ( later Ben Hur series.)

Two gladiators in action poses of the roman infantry series launched in 1956 made out of rubber, extremely hard to find these figures from the 50's in such an excellent condition.

Reamsa catalog references 162 and 163, 54mm 1:32 scale  aprox., watch photo provided for size observation.

Vintage and genuine (figures made out of rubber were made in Spain in the 1950's years, at the end of this decade moulds were retooled for making plastic ones following sanitary rules and economical reasons and never again were reissued in rubber).

Excellent condition and genuine painting ex-factory (actually were painted in a well established network of private homes around REAMSA workshop in Barcelona in those early years) , pay attention to the fine painting of the faces in particular.

Watch photos as the main explanation about condition and feel free to contact me for more information before buying.

In the Golden age, Reamsa launched this very large series of roman legion and gladiators with the first edition in 1956 made out of rubber, a second edition in the early 60's after the success of the Ben Hur film was made out of plastic and painted from factory too.

Later Gomarsa with the same moulds in the 80's launched a short reissue in a dense heavy plastic(pvc) factory painted branded "Históricos" infantry and cavalry, and in the 90's reisued them in monocolour plastic including quadrigas.

Finally some of these moulds were brought to USA and reissued again in the mid 90's and onwards out of monocolour soft plastic of different shades but not painted for the american collectors.

This series included gladiators, legion infantry, cavalry and Quadrigas
