This is African Nutmeg, also referred to as Ehuru, Calabash nutmeg or Jamaican nutmeg.


This is a seed commonly used as Spice in Nigerian Cooking for Soups & Stews.


It is also used in Traditional Medicine as part of some tinctures, Infusions


The seeds come from the tropical tree which grows in west Africa, it is used as a cheaper alternative to the common Nutmeg.


The Ehuru seed is encased in a hard woody outer layer, when removed it reveals the preferred Hard seed which can grinded or grated and added to traditional soups & stews (such as banga, ogbonna soup or pepper soup)


It can also be used in baking.
