This is an Art Deco case that I made from raw Wild Black Cherry Burl wood. I hand turned this piece using a lathe to shape and hollow the vase out. I then sanded it smooth, added a few coats of Shellac, sanded that, then finished it off with a few coats of polyurethane.

It measures approximately 5” across the top and stands 9” tall. It has all the natural characteristics of the wood, even a little area where the Burl split.

I made this vase as an Art Deco piece so it’s not meant to be used with water but some people find glass or plastic tubes to fit and add water.

I hand sign, date, and number each piece and this piece is #99 for 2021.
