Rosehip are the seed pod of the rose. Rosehip are also called rose haw or rose hep. Roses belong to the same family as the apple and crab apple, so it is no coincidence that rose hips look like tiny apples. Rose hip can be a bit tart, similar to crab apples, but horses do not seem to mind the flavor. Rosehip are a source of readily assimilated forms of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, including – vitamins C, A, B₁, B₂, B₃  and K, bioflavonoids (including rutin), carotenoids, tannins, calcium, magnesium, silica, phosphorous and copper. Rosehip is natural antihistamine, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
