PROVENANCE

Ex collection of Leo Hellman, a well-known furniture dealer from East London, South Africa. Although he was a furniture dealer, his primary love was philately. He built up an extensive collection of material, and won several exhibition awards, including a Gold Medal for his ‘Philatelic Terms’ exhibit. He became the Chairman of the South African Philatelic Federation. He died in 1990.
