Oriental Ethnic Tribal Jewelry - Antiques

An Afghan Turkmen pendant, authentic tribal jewelry 

from 1920-50s, entirely handmade using age-old techniques.

Today It's hard to find these kind of jewelry that are real old 

from the time before 1960.

This piece is made out of a thick white metal alloy with 

red glass and imitation red stones. The red color symbolizes vitality, 

fertility, happiness and also ward off the evil eye.

Pendants like these type, were worn by Turkmen tribal women as braid 

and hair ornaments, necklaces, or sewn onto their garments.

Authentic condition, little rusty, has traces of use and a brown patina 

acquired over its many years. It's missing the loop at the top.
