What does this Rickenbacker have to do with Liverpool? Indeed, it's not difficult to guess ... of course – The Beatles! Rickenbacker and John Lennon – that was a close relation in the early years of the Beatles. John bought his first "Ricky" second-hand during the Star Club period in Hamburg. This Ricky has the color Mapleglo (blonde). In Lennon’s own words: "The Rickenbacker is the most beautiful guitar – the action is rediculously low!" In 1962, John had his Ricky repainted in black (Jetglo). Just in time for the Christmas Show 1964/65, John played a Rickenbacker in the classic Fireglo color with an additional F-hole. Rickenbacker exploited this for marketing purposes and promoted this red beauty in England as a "beatle backer". Extremely clever move, indeed!

The Rickenbacker 350V63 Liverpool Vintage Reissue is reminiscent of the classic 325 series. However, it has been given some extremely useful improvements that will benefit today's guitarist. For example the scale length. Obviously John Lennon got along well with a 3/4 scale length, it made sense to equip the 350V63 Liverpool with a common standard scale length. The original Accent Vibrato from the 325 series has been replaced by a fixed Trapeze Tailpiece.
