When we acquired a large trove of Gladys Boalt ornaments, we thought four figural ornaments in the collection were Boalt as well as they are of the same quality and detail. Upon closer inspection we see that they are actually signed by another artist-- MJC, or MIC, or MK (we can't tell as they are done by hand). As with the Boalts, these vintage pieces are all in very nice vintage condition!

This is an angel hanging ornament done primarily in gold and white. She has a lovely hand painted face with eyes lifted heavenward, wings of semi-sheer ribbon and she is carrying a sheaf of papers--Christmas carols, perhaps? She is beautifully and carefully crafted of fine fabric and trims, with incredible detail, right down to her lace-trimmed petticoat and bloomers!  She measures approximately 8.5” high and about 5" wide. Absolutely superb hand-made work of soft sculpture folk art! Signed and dated 1996.
