Pair of Japanese Hand-thrown Stoneware TEA BOWLS. A textured matte deep brown glaze covers the foot/base, the rest is covered, inside and out, with a lightly crazed glossy tan drip glaze. The interior is a clean solid color while the exterior has more interesting variation - darker spots, concentric ridges, and two wavy intersecting lines, slightly raised in some areas. A subtle teal blue line edges the tan glaze where it meets the darker brown.
Each measures approximately 3-3/8" tall, 3-7/8" outer rim diameter, and 2" base diameter. One weighs 10.5 oz. the other 10.9 oz. They each hold about 1-1/4 cups if filled to the brim, and stack conveniently.
Other than a scuff on the bottomside unglazed ring, and the crazing, NO cracks, chips, repairs, utensil marks nor stains found.
From clean, smoke and pet-free storage - ready to use.
