Once copepods or amphipods will start to live there there will be only benefits to keep that in your tank

Simply place one or multiples of these as required in your sump and as detritus builds in them pods will move in to eat it. After a couple of weeks once a suitable supply of pods have built up, remove from the sump and place in main display tank, cover one hole with your finger and blow water through the top hole, all of the pods will be blown out for your fish to eat.

You can place food inside the center hole to speed up the process.

Or simply leave in your sump to provide a habitat for pods to breed and find their way into your main display on their own
