This old and original print was found in a 20+ page advertising art portfolio, believed to belong to an artist who
created these prints, and who put together this portfolio: Clarence S. Primrose,
395 Shuttle Meadow Avenue, New Britain, Connecticut. His name and address
appear on the first page of the portfolio, and are shown in this listing in the
last scan.
Most of these incredible ads date from
the 1920’s, some earlier, some probably 1930’s.
Most pages show multiple ads, and some pages have complete brochures
with fold-out pages.
Many of the
portfolio pages show products manufactured by Landers, Frary & Clark, New
Britain, Connecticut, especially their Universal home appliance line of
electric ranges, toasters, washing machines and much more.
Each
portfolio page measures about 10 ½ x14”. The ads appear to be lightly glued and mounted carefully on the
page. Each page is in very good to excellent condition. The ads are all original and old, in unused condition. Any flaws will be noted
in the listing.
The print ad in this listing shows two expensive-looking rings, a pricey-looking watch, and what appears to be an upscale cigarette case. These images are sharp and clear and the advertisement would look great in a frame.
The ad is made of light
cardboard, and measures about 10 x 12 1/2”. A few wrinkles on the edges.
