These vintage The Listener magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures (in black & white), and these 1960s issues are particularly interesting! There are details about Radio and TV Programmes. Plus there are poems, articles on art and literature and exhibitions.
In this issue:
- Coexistence ‘Plus’ by Christopher Mayhew
- The Death of Ideology by Uwe Kitzinger - New political consciousness in Germany
- India’s Coming Elections by Charles Wheeler
- Popularization - an agent in a conspiracy by Martin Green
- Poems: Sydney Clouts, Karen Gershon, Paul Roche
- Faust’s Damnation: The Morality of Knowledge - Part 2 by Erich Heller - Lessing and Goethe
- E Pluribus Unum by Magnus Pyke
- A Self-Portrait by Larry Rivers
- Foot in the Door by Murray Sayle
- Martin Buber on Good and Evil with Vernon Sproxton
- Still Life with Teapot by Cézanne by David Sylvester
The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 31cm by 25cm, with pages 110 - 152
Condition: The magazine is in good vintage condition showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers, plus the paper is fragile and tanned with age with some brown spotting and the staples have rusted. There is a newsagent’s delivery name written on the back cover in pencil. Given that the magazine is over 60 years old, its condition is good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.
I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask!
