These unusual placemats feature several figural and folksy symbols including a figure dressed in traditional clothing, a windmill, and a sail boat. The embroidery is expertly executed and is of the highest quality. The embroidery and theme appears to be from the Grenfell Industries which was active in Labrador from 1900-1920. There are 8 matching napkins with floral embroidered embellishment. The set is in excellent vintage condition, offered as purchased from a fine estate.
