This Marisol DeLuna New York AH - Alamo Heights Collection Blue and Gold 100% Silk Twill Necktie 58.25 inches Long and 3.25 inches Wide is in a gently used, good, previously owned condition. It shows signs of minor use and wear. It is clean and has been carefully and gently machined steamed. The front and back shell and tipping of the tie do not have any stains, tears, snags or damage. This beautiful tie is crafted from fine pure silk. The hem, seam, keeper loop, bar tack and slip stitch are all intact with no unraveling. The rolled edge is still neatly rolled and pressed. The lighting of the camera's flash may make the tie appear as if it has discoloration, but it does not have any discoloration. The berry blue tones, yellow gold, hints of emerald green, smokey grey and midnight black colors are all dark and non-faded.
Twill is perhaps the most popular form of solid tie. It gets its texture from a weave common in many ties. It’s characterized by a pronounced series of diagonal ribs – like the texture of denim. Twill has high thread count which means that the fabric is opaque, thick, and durable. This twill tie has a distinct and pronounced texture for maximum impact.
While in art school, Marisol DeLuna's first visit to New York was by way of a Greyhound Bus. The Manhattan skyline filled her with a wonderment that was unlike any MTV music video, old movie or book she had ever read during her youth that had led her there.
Her unimpressive entry level position was relatively thankless in New York's Garment District. She was 21 years old and wouldn't trade that experience for anything. As a result, she had fondly called this city home since 1989.
Marisol grew up a middle class kid in Alamo Heights, Texas. She is a fashion designer by profession and a graduate student from the Fashion Institute of Technology and has started a charitable foundation.
