Sterling & Turquoise Shadow Box Bear Paw Clip-on Earrings-Southwestern/Nat. Am.

These wonderful earrings are being listed as "Southwestern" style because they don't have a maker's mark or artist's signature, so I can't say for sure who made them.  They appear to me to be artisan hand-made and my best guess is that they are Native American made and of Navajo origin, but I can't prove that.

These earrings have been previously owned and are of an unknown age.  Based on appearance, my best guess is they were made within the last 15-20 years.  They have been worn and show normal signs of wear, such as minor scuffs and scratches and some patina.  Please review the photos for more detail.

The earrings are sterling silver with one small turquoise stone cabochon on each earring.  I don't know whether the stones are real turquoise, some other stone modified to look like turquoise (like howlite), or some type of simulated or artificial stone.  I don't have the expertise and/or equipment to test stones or metal beyond testing reaction to a magnet.  The earrings are stamped "Sterling" and do not react to a magnet.  Interestingly, the clips on these earrings are also not magnetic.  Often clips used on clip-on earrings are made with less expensive magnetic material, but that isn't the case with these earrings.  I don't know if the clips are sterling silver, but can say they are not magnetic.

These are small earrings; just 1/2" Wide and 5/8" Long, and they weigh 3 grams.
