Ceiling Light Shade or Globe

Up for auction is a vintage, white, milk glass, hanging ceiling light shade or globe, typically used in school houses, drug stores or department stores.  The globe has an acorn shape, and at the base is a metal tassel finial or drop, which hangs down.  The globe measures approximately 8.25 inches in height, not counting the tassel.  The diameter of the opening at the top, which would fit into a light fixture, measures approximately 4.875 inches across.

The glass globe is in great vintage condition, with no cracks, scratches, stains or repairs.  However, there are numerous small chips to the glass along the rim that would fit into the ceiling fixture, the largest of which I have tried to document in the last few photographs.  In addition, the ends of the tassel has some off white paint on it, which is not original.
