This is an interesting 17 inch antique doll in that her particular Hallmark on her back shoulderplate actually reads that she was manufactured by Armand Marseille for Cuno & Otto Dressel this mold number 93, probably around the turn of the last century when AM began to expand and do just this for other doll makers.  I understand that this was a common place practice, but it is the first such Hallmark we have seen, so we wanted to point it out to you all!  ANYWAY, beside this interesting little aside, let's get down to the business of the DOLL: she has a very pretty face as most Dressel dolls do, with brown set paperweight eyes and a human hair wig that is curled up in a "flip." It is a rich strawberry blonde color.  Her bisque head is perfect, with no noted cracks, chips, or hairlines.  She has been placed on a cloth body, obviously a replacement, when, we have no idea, as this was how we received her.  We did put some extra stuffing in her body so she would be less loosey-goosey, but, aside from that, we left her as we found her.  She does have vintage bisque legs and arms that appear in good condition.

Our girl is wearing a C1980s ensemble which includes a "fur" trimmed burgundy red jacket and hat, and a black and white checked skirt shot through with gold threads.  The jacket has a dickey of a blouse at the "V" with a gold bow tie.  The hat has a decorative checked bow tie in the front garnished with a fur fringe.  The doll wears pantaloons in white, black patterned stockings, and black strapped shoes.  There is a pearl tipped hat pin to hold her hat in place.
