B.F. Meek & Sons, Inc. and Blue Grass Reel Works operated between 1899 and 1903 in Louisville, Kentucky.
They introduced take-apart Kentucky-style reels made with stamped and formed parts, marked No. 25, 33 or 34.
This No. 25 Blue Grass has a conventional frame, with plates connected by pillars, spiral gears, screw off end caps and is stamped B.F. Meek & Sons Louisville KY. on the head cap, with the patent dates stamped on the reel’s tail plate.
