    Habitat: tidal flats of the estuary and bay mud.

    Size: adult is about 3cm gap width.

    Description: The narrow gap in the rear for a smooth hairless. After teeth are sharp eye toward the anterior oblique dull. The upper surface has a mesh design. The male will become very large one chela, female university sides. chela outside of the male palm is covered with flat, coarsely granular. Gregarious digging a hole in the prime tidelands. The male is a little up and down the large chela (UEBINGU), carrying the sand from the tidal flats at the mouth of the smaller chela. Female feed with alternating chela both. chela of the male to feed is not used, and the struggle of other males, that is used to appeal to the female. Individual small chimney hole in the elementary (chimney-like structures) have to make.

    Coenobita rugosus (colloquially referred to as ruggie) is a species of land hermit crab native to Australia and the east African coast to the south west Pacific.

    C. rugosus has four walking legs, a small pincer, a large pincer, and antennae. When threatened C. rugosus is able to make a 'chirping' sound by rubbing its large pincer against its shell as a stridatory aparatus.

    C. rugosus vary in color depending on nutritional intake and common colors include green, brown and tan; but black, white, pink, and blue have also been observed. They can be differentiated from other species of land hermit crabs by the pronounced striations (stitch marks) on their large pincer. Coenobita compressus and Coenobita perlatus also possess these striations to a lesser extent but can easily be distinguished from C. rugosus by size and color; especially in the case of the C. perlatus which is a striking red color as an adult.

    They can be 15mm in length and their eyestalks are sandy in color and may have a brown stripe on the bottom of them. The bottom pair of the second antena are light orange in color. Their big claw has 7 ridges on the upper part and there is usually hair on the inside of both claws. On the last pair of walking legs, on the second segment, it is flattened and the color is lighter. The abdomen is short and fat.

    As with other species of land hermit crabs C. rugosus are scavengers and will consume plants, dead fish, fruit and other detritus.

     

     

    Oriental River Prawn - Macrobrachium nipponensis

    In the freshwater shrimp, the most common type, lakes and rivers around the habitat. Eggs that are spawning in the summer is being protected by someone between the legs of the female swimmer in the abdomen. When newly hatched, called ZOEYA, and shrimp are quite different in shape, until it takes the form of shrimp a month. Growing and eating the remains of plankton sinking to the bottom, is the length to about 10cm.Can stay 1 day in the shadows, there is a nocturnal habit. Life is 1-2 years.
