These vintage The Listener magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures (in black & white), and these just war-time issues are particularly interesting! There are details about Radio Broadcasts, and there are transcripts of important broadcasts, including Winston Churchill, The King and other important figures - a truly fascinating look back at history as it was actually happening!

In this issue:
  • The Fight for Cherbourg – Eye Witness Accounts
  • Art and the Normal Man
  • William Morris and Robert Bridges by Stephen Spender
  • The Pattern of the Air War by John Strachey – Flying Bombs
  • How the Japanese Live by H. V. Redman
  • Poems: This Spring by Robert Hunter; A Delicate Thing by Lilian Bowes Lyon
  • The Strange City of Bath by P. Morton Shand

The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 33cm by 25cm, with pages 706 - 732

Condition: The magazine is in good condition, showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers, plus the paper is fragile and tanned with age with some brown spotting and the staples have rusted. There is a newsagents delivery name written on the front cover in pencil. Given that the magazine is around 75 years old, its condition is very good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.

I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask!
