An antique porcelain covered bowl with hand-painted sprig pattern. An individual soup bowl or a large sugar bowl. White porcelain with purple and green floral sprigging pattern. Ten-sided melon shape. Shell shape handles and a floral shaped handle on the lid. Lid has an intentional steam hole. Impressed on the bottom with a H and painted with 112 in green paint. Most likely made in Staffordshire in England in the early to mid 1800s.

Porcelain and glaze are translucent (not opaque pearlware).

The bowl with the lid on measures 6-1/2” H x 7” W x 6” diameter.

In good to fair condition. The handle on the lid has been repaired with silver color metal, and the metal is painted white. There is a hairline crack on one side of the lid and a larger hairline crack on one side of the bowl. No chips. Some crazing the glaze. See images for details.
