Huber Flint glass lid 9 3/8” od. Jas. B. Lyon & Company
manufactures of Flint Glass 1861. This lid is Clear bell tone flint. The glass
is clear and any colors you see in the photographs are reflections from indoors
where I photographed the piece. The lid
has the mold marks and straw marks and bubbles common in this era of glassware.
Color and clarity are excellent. The impression from the mold is sharp, The
Huber pattern is pictured in Lowell Innes’s book Pittsburg Glass 1797-1891 on
page 307. A catalog page from Jas. B. Lyon & Co Manufacture. Knob is
damaged with a chip that spans two of the hexagon panels. Two of the points
below look like they are slightly bruised. The 18 points on the lid are intact
and also the flange is in good condition.
