Korean Meiping Vase:

Title: Antique Classic Korean Thousand Cranes Celadon ‘Meiping’ Vase. Early 1900s.

Description: A fine Korean Celadon Vase, fashioned in traditional Meiping style, probably of Early 1900s manufacture. The body is masterfully decorated with underglaze inlay design of the favored thousand cranes motif, flying amongst clouds, some of which are trapped within a pattern of large circles, rimmed with bands of lotus petals. This classic Celadon vase is modeled of bottle form with slightly outward turned rim, long neck, tapering to a wide lower body and shallow foot rim. The perfectly glazed vase exhibits a heavy crazed light-green glazed surface, with a lustrous sheen, while exposing the unglazed natural clay bisque at the base. The base bares the hand-written potters mark along with a red seal mark.
