First Day Declaration of Independence stamps - Scott #1694 - Wyo. cover

Celebrating America's Bicentennial.

Cover with the official logo of the American Bicentennial Commission created by the Wyoming Bicentennial Commission. Cancelled on July 4, 1976, in Centennial, Wyoming, to commemorate the First Day of Issue of the Declaration of Independence stamps.

The cover is stamped with the Declaration of Independence stamp (Scott #1694), the 8 cent American Revolution Bicentennial stamp (Scott #1432), and the 3 cent 50th Anniversary of Wyoming Statehood stamp (Scott #897). These stamps received the Centennial, Wyoming, July 4, 1976, "Happy 200th Birthday, U.S.A." pictorial cancel. Centennial, Wyoming, was named in 1876 in honor of the 100th birthday of the United States and is the first town in the United States with that name.
