The difference between our   0.4 - 1.4mm premium carbon is that the granules in this carbon are slightly larger, which allows it to be reused many more times than the smaller, 0.4 - 0.85mm size carbon because the granules gradually become smaller with each use. However, if you do reuse your activated carbon, there is a specific process that you must follow to rinse and dry the carbon in between each use, which can prolong the life of your carbon. To learn more about this, refer to our free e-book on Activated Carbon   1LB 5OZ  PER BAG  THATS 5 OZ MORE THEN THE OTHERS AND LESS DOE. Have been using this with the SS Filter system. Results have been stellar. Perfect amount for the SS filter. Makes all the difference in making neutral spirits. Product is very consistent. Cost is low enough to use once and discard. Brewhaus does it again. Thank you for all you guys do .

      Essential for good tasting vodka

A comment on boiling and baking to reuse it. I've done this but didn't get as much use out of it afterwards as new charcoal. And you might want to think about how much you pay for the electricity/gas vs. just buying a new bag.

      Still using first bag

I bought 2 bags when I got the SS filter. I've probably filtered over 50 gallons so far and I'm still using the first bag. I just boil and bake it after each use. Still working like new.

      Does a Great Job!

Well worth the cost. Quickly washes clean as compared to other commercially available wood carbon I have used. No ash. Superior filtration and produces an ultimately clean product. I'm very pleased.

I made me a filter out of a piece of 2" pvc pipe with cotton balls on the bottom. After running my distilled mash through it made a big difference in color and taste
