A NOTE ON 'HIGH' PRICES:
eBay charges the seller ~12.5% of EVERY AMOUNT received from a buyer (actual % varies).
Whatever your total amount is with sales tax & shipping, eBay takes out 12.5% of that for their "fees."
I don't profit from your shipping cost. I actually lose 12.5% of that. Same with whatever you pay for sales tax. That amount essentially comes out of whatever "profit" I make from the original price.
Please don't get all bent out of shape about costs being higher & take it out on sellers.
eBay fees are forcing us to raise prices in order to make any sort of profit, which our families depend on for INCOME. 
Example:
Item cost $100
Shipping $30
10% Sales Tax $13
Your total cost $143

My cost for item $50
My cost for shipping $30
My eBay fees (12.5% of $143 = $17.87 + $0.30 per item) $18.17

If I were to only pay 12.5% of $100 (item price), my fees would be $12.50.
Instead, they're $18.17 - almost $6 more.
Even though I don't "make any money" on shipping or sales tax, I still pay eBay a % of that.
Instead of making $50 on a $100 sale (no fees taken out whatsoever), or even $37.50 (12.5% eBay fees on item price only), I make $31.83. 

And NOW I pay INCOME TAX on that amount. (And we all know how ridiculous that % is.)
PLUS - I pay a monthly fee to even be able to sell on eBay!
I'm not a "mega" seller. I'm just trying to make a little extra income for my family.
Please keep this in mind when you're buying. Hope this helps to clarify "high prices."
