SERVICE DESCRIPTION - PLEASE READ IN FULL!

Coppell TV Repair LLC offers a REPAIR SERVICE for a common failure in DPS board A2094368A / 1-980-840-11 as shown on the picture and used in Sony XBR-65X930D, Sony XBR-65X930D and possibly other Sony LED TV models.

REPAIR SERVICE means you have to send us your board, which we will test, service (if necessary) and return back to you.

The board may have different revisions and different part numbers associated with it. If your board comes from one of the above mentioned TV models and the failure symptoms (see below) match then this listing can be applied to your board as well, even if it has a different part number.

How does it work

Shortly after placing an order you will receive an email with shipping instructions telling you how to mark, package and send your board to us.

The cost of shipping the board to us is not included in this listing and it is customer's responsibility to deliver the board as per our shipping instructions.

Please do not call to ask us if we've received the board. Instead, follow your tracking number and when it says the board was delivered then it 99.99% certainty was.

It takes 3 to 5 business days for a package that was delivered to us to move from the back to the front of the queue and be processed. The time can be longer after long holidays, weather delays etc.

Upon opening your package we first evaluate the board's physical condition for meeting our requirements (see below).

Then we put the board in a TV and verify that it is malfunctioning.

If we determine it functional we get back to you. If no repair service is performed and the board is to be returned we retain a minimum diagnostic fee in amount of $20 plus eBay/PayPal sales fees plus the return shipping costs and issue refund for the rest.

If the board fails the functional test we proceed to repairing it.

We take up to 2 business days for the repair process.

If we are not successful with the repair once we have undertaken it we issue you full refund and cancel the transaction. We do not make money in this case, however we still invoice you for the return shipping of the malfunctioning board.

If board is repaired and tested properly we directly send it back and do not communicate the success. You are notified of the return by an eBay package shipment notification.

Board failure symptoms

There is a well known failure in these boards that leaves the TV totally dead - no LED indication, no signs of life, no response to remote or power button.

This is due to a failure in the voltage regulator that provides the main board with 3.3V standby power needed for the very essential functionality such as indicating it is powered on and expecting (and responding to) a user command to turn on the television set.

it is important to note that other failures can cause the exactly the same failure symptoms and as such you should not assume that if the TV is dead then the DPS board is the only possible reason for it.

For example if there was a power surge it could have damaged the power supply and/or the main board (the one with all HDMI inputs) and the result could have been also a totally dead TV (among other possibilities).

Still at the time of this listing's creating the DPS board is known to fail more than any other board, so statistically there's is a great chance that if your TV is dead then this is the board that caused it.


The best way to tell if your DPS board is indeed bad is to see whether it outputs 3.3V DC at the top pin of the connector that feeds power to the main board (top right of the DPS board) when there is 24V DC fed to the DPS board itself from the preceding board.

For best certainty you should run the test when the main board is disconnected from the DPS board because if it was indeed hit by lightning or otherwise failed then it may be shorting the standby power line to ground and trick you that the DPS board is failed when the actual reason would be external shortage that prevents the DPS from properly outputting standby voltage.
 
BOARD REQUIREMENTS 

The board we receive must be in good physical condition and must not have been tampered with or serviced before, i.e. no apparent traces of previous repairs should show.

We will reject service to boards that someone has attempted repairing and you will still be charged for the return shipping and the eBay/PayPal fees.
