Drosera Capansis Alba Seeds - 50 Fresh Harvested 2023 (carnivorous plants)

This listing is for at least 50 Drosera Capensis Alba (white) form seeds fresh harvested during 2023. The first picture shows the adult plant which grows to a diameter of 8-10cm, with leave up to 12cm long. It produces staggered white flowers about 1.2cm across on a stalk up to 25cm tall, see picture two. The third picture shows the seeds.

Drosera Capensis, also known as the Cape sundew, is native to the Cape region in South Africa. Drosera Capensis makes a great plant for the beginner as it's extremely easy to grow and very hardy. I grow mine in a mix of 2:1 peat and sand. They can be grown indoors or outside in an unheated greenhouse. They like full sun in summer and should be kept standing in 1-2cm of rain water, not tap water. They can be left outside in winter but will die back to the roots if frosted (they will look dead but don't throw them away), or kept in the house.

Drosera Capensis Alba does not require cold stratification. Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of the compost mix and place on a sunny windowsill. Keep compost moist by watering from below. Increasing humidity by placing the pot in a bag or putting it in a propagator can aid germination. Seeds should germinate in 3 to 6 weeks if conditions are good.

For more exotic seeds see my other listings.

NOTE: As with all seeds, germination rates may vary. If for some reason you experience poor germination please let me know.

POSTAGE NOTE: Postage discount available on multiple orders however please ask for an invoice BEFORE paying.
