Timeless Stitches Pattern #722 "MEN'S DRAWERS" Pattern. Pattern for underdrawers or period men's underwear.

This is a new, unused pattern in the original factory fold.

The pattern is multiple sized with sizes from teen (30" waist) through X-large (50" waist).

From the pattern:  "Drawers were used by all classes and under all styles of clothing. The difference was in the quality of the cloth used. A stout muslin or coarse flannel (wool flannel not cotton flannelette) was used by the working class and under work clothes. A finer muslin, linen or flannel was used under business of everyday clothing and silk, fine muslin, good quality linen or soft flannel was used under evening or dress wear. Today we can make drawers out of muslin, cotton flannelette (for warmth) or if you can find it and your husband is not affected by the wool, wool flannel. Silks, and linens can also be used. I have found enough references to calicos that I believe even some calicos would not be inappropriate. If you decide to use a patterned fabric, you need to purchase one that is the same on both sides."

Requirements:  The most economical is 36" wide. This requires 3 yards for all sizes. OR 2 3/4- 3 1/3 yards of 45" wide fabric. 1 1/2 yards 1" wide cotton twill tape for ties at hemline. 12-24" of 1/8" ribbon or cord for ties at center back. 1-4 china, bone, wood, mother-of-pearl or punched tin buttons depending on style. 2 yards of 1" wide cotton twill tape for stirrups.
