I call this piece a “Chimps Brain” bc it looks like a lateral view of a chimpanzee and the bowl is his brain.

Sometimes the best artwork is made by Mother Nature. I just try to show off her handiwork.

It measures approximately 9x6x2.5”.

This winged bowl is made from a Chechen Burl. A Burl is an outgrowth or “scab” that forms on a tree and is highly sought after by wood workers for its perfect “imperfections”. It makes each piece one of a kind and it’s sorta like a treasure hunt once I start digging into the bowl.

This is handcrafted in my studio on John’s Island in South Carolina.

I’ve been published in magazines, most notable being the Augusta Magazine in April of 2022 (Masters Edition). I’ve also shown in multiple galleries around Aiken, SC and I’m a regular vendor at the world famous Market House in Charleston, SC every Friday and Saturday night from 630-1030pm.

It is hand signed, dated and numbered.
