Voyages from Montreal through the Continent of North America to the Frozen and Pacific Oceans in 1789 and 1793 (Two Volumes)

By Alexander Mackenzie

Published:  Allerton Book Co., New York, 1922.

Two volume set.  Uniformly bound, top edge gilt.  Not Ex-Lib.

Mackenzie's expeditions were undertaken on behalf of the North West Fur Co. which was attempting to break through the Hudson Bay Company's monopoly, and were attended by many dangers from both nature and man. The main point of departure was Fort Chipewayan on Lake Athabasca, then called Lake of the Hills, whence he set out in 1789 for the Arctic Sea, and in 1792 for the Pacific. In both he reached his goal.

I've done my best to describe the book, but if you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.
