This is a lovely copy of The Swiss Family Robinson, the famous book, written in 1812, by the German-Swiss writer Johann Wyss.

It is about a family of Swiss immigrants who were sailing to Australia when their ship was blown off course and they were stranded in the East Indies.

There is an illustration, either a black drawing or a full-color painting, on nearly every page. The illustrator was Charles Folkard, creator of the famous British comic strip Teddy Tail.

341 pages. Red and gray boards with green text.

There is an inscription on the front endpaper; it was given to a daughter by her parents in 1974. The daughter, presumably, had the cover professionally laminated.

There are some little spots on the cover but they're barely noticeable.
Other than that, this book is in pristine condition.
