These vintage Picture Post magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures, and these war-time issues are particularly interesting! And the advertisements are great, too.
In this issue:
- Cover: Wendell Willkie
- Wendell Willkie: Where is he going? by Rebecca West
- Stalingrad: The Biggest News Story of the War by A. J. Cummings
- Britain Gets Two New Battleships - George V Class Battleships - Anson & Howe
- Gipsy Rose Lee is an American Portent - Louise Hovick, Bill Skipper
- This is a modern office building by Elizabeth Denby
- The May Fair Dance Band plays for A Mining Village Dance - Askern, Yorkshire - Jack Jackson’s Band
- Russian Posters Look for the Second Front, Recall Past Heroes
The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 35cm by 26cm, with 28 pages
Condition: The magazine is in good condition, showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers & some damage to the edge of the cover at the spine, plus the paper is fragile and tanned with age and the staples have rusted, making the pages loose. Given that the magazine is around 75 years old, its condition is pretty good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.
I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask!
