A signed Charlotte Rhead painted and lightly tube-lined tile, decorated with the rear view of four bear cubs, tube-lined signature verso reading 'L. Rhead 1910', 4 x 8 cm in original parcel gilt oak frame (13.5 cm x 17.5 cm).
Rhead-Cronin sale, Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood, January 2014. The signature is in Charlotte's own hand, (she was known as 'Lottie' at the start of her career) - once she became established, her paintresses completed a version of her signature, which was changed to 'C Rhead', on all items. She was aged 25 when this tile was done. From the Estate of Richard Harry Rhead Cronin, son of Marie Elizabeth Adolphine Rhead (sister to Charlotte Rhead)
