Warman Minstrel acoustic guitar pickup with volume control and output jack prewired. Suitable for steel strung acoustic guitars. This is a single coil blade magnetic pickup and will not work with nylon string instruments.

Easily fits into the soundhole of your acoustic guitar with two small retaining lips on the edge of the pickup and a large retaining spring that descends into the sound hole cavity to hold the pickup securely in place. Being a blade style pickup the exact spacing of your strings is neither here nor there as there is no need to line up with the pole pieces. On the upper body of the pickup there is a basic rotary tone control. The photos show the basic method of fitting the pickups into the sound hole. Direct release the string tension - its much easier to insert the pickup if you can move the strings out of the way. The two legs of the retaining spring are inserted into the two small holes on the back of the pickup. The body of the pickup is inserted into the sound hole with the two small retaining lugs lapping over the soundboard of the guitar, the retaining spring is then sprung down into the sound hole to secure the unit. Take some care doing this to avoid damaging your guitar, the spring is rubberised but don't go at it like a bull in a china shop, a bit of patience rewards better results. The prewired jack socket has an oblong retains plate with a double sided adhesive pad to secure it to the body of the guitar wherever you feel most comfortable putting it.

The height of the pickup can be adjusted up and down to find the sweet spot for your tone using the height screws. Small size screws are already installed and we include some longer screws for guitars needing the pickup mounted lower than standard ( my acoustic has quite a low action and needed the longer screws fitted )

All in  all a cheap and cheerful solution to amplifying your acoustic guitar.
