This is a set of 10 first day covers of the 10 stamps issued on September 16, 1995 in Monterey, California, at the Monterey Jazz Festival. The stamps honor 10 of the all-time greats of the jazz world and feature pianists Eubie Blake, Jelly Roll Morton, James P. Johnson, Erroll Garner, and Thelonious Monk; saxophonists Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane; cornetist Louis Armstrong; and bassist Charles Mingus.
These covers are all unaddressed and cacheted in color by Mystic. All are canceled with the First Day of Issue cancel from Monterey on September 16, 1995 and would make a great gift for any FDC collector. All have biographical text on the back too!
