    This is the "blue coil" replacement version made by Bosch in Brazil and current also out of production, for all the transistorized ignition systems.

    

               A PERFECT OEM COIL FOR MERCEDES BENZ  IGNITION
 
               The Mercedes Benz Pagoda 230SL 250SL and 280SL basically utilize two types of ignition coil
               during production from 1963 to 1971 , up to mid 1969 the factory installed coil was the part#
               0221119021 so called the "black coil " after mid 1969 they introduce the Transistorized Ignition
               which utilize a module to enhance the system , the coil for those models was part# 0221122001
               also called "the blue coil"

             Technical Note: 

                                       On models equipped with transistor module the arcing is drastically reduces since 
                                       less than a ampere flows through the points , however the resistor should be installed to 
                                       protect the coil and improve its  longevity , the blue coil originally installed on those
                                      models has a distinct construction, the thickness and ratio of the coil windings are designed for
                                       a discharge of the transistor module ,
