Compact disk (CD) with detailed of repair
instructions for the Vario, Pronto, Prontor-S, Prontor-SV, and Prontor-SVS leaf
shutters. The manual was originally produced around 1959 by the Alfred Gauthier
G.m.b.H. (German for 'limited liability society') in Calmbach (located in the Black Forest region of Germany).
The manual is composed of two sections:
1. The Repair Instructions. A 90-page manual which contains a detailed
description of the shutters and classical trouble-shooting manual with the
three columns: TROUBLE, CAUSE, and CORRECTION (see the picture below). Also
very interesting is the frank discussion of manufacturing problems requiring
technical changes.
2. The Parts List. A 122 page
description containing detailed drawings
and part numbers of all shutter parts.
Parts may no longer be available from the
factory.
The CD contains 214 pages (DIN A4 format) and
has a total of 123 MBytes of information in the common .pdf ('portable data
format' by Adobe) format which can be read, viewed or printed by every
computer. The individual chapters have been linked to a table of content in
front to facilitate navigating the manuals.
