Signed, inscribed and numbered (161/1500) limited first hardcover edition of Christo: Valley Curtain (Harry N. Abrams, 1973). Documents the origin, process and installation of one of the experimental artist, Christo Vladimirov Javacheff’s, best known works, Valley Curtain, where he and a crew installed a large piece of fabric across a valley in Colorado. Limited first edition, numbered 161 out of 1500 copies sold. Transparent jacket is torn and with tape keeping the torn areas together. Shelf wear around the edges of boards with bumped corners and chipped edges of jacket. A few areas where binding is visible but remains fairly strong on the whole. Previous owner’s inscription on front endpaper, but otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
