SSUR Wonder Wheel New Era 59Fifty Cap

SSUR released this amazing Wonder Wheel New Era Cap in 2007, fully embroidered with the scaffolding pattern of a Ferris wheel, set on to the iconic 59Fifty. It was wearable art.

The cap was only available in a white/black and black/black color variation, and it was hard to get, being that it was only available from SSURPLUS in New York, exclusively. That was it.

The cap features an extensive 360 degrees of dope embroidery true to the ‘Wonder Wheel’ ferris wheel ride.

About the artist, Ruslan Karablin aka SSUR: Born in Soviet Ukraine and raised in Brooklyn, Karablin’s art and coded-eponymous apparel brand, SSUR, has undergone a global expansion since its home-base shifted from New York City's Soho area, where Karablin first established a brick and mortar in the early 1990's.

Having operated locations in New York, LA, Shanghai as well as the current Odessa location, Karablin never disappoints with his tongue-in-cheek execution, be it on shirts, canvas, or as seen in the recent collaboration with Superplastic's NY store launch in 2022. SSUR’s ethos encompasses subversive ingenuity with influences stemming from imperial art, secret knocks, dark pop, and militaristic propaganda. Karablin’s solo art has consistently delivered a subversive energy in retort against the current fads.
