Hysterical confusion as the Elves tumble and fall all over each other down the staircase as Old Lady starts to come upon them.  She has her night cap on and is holding a candle to try to see what is going on down the stairs.  The poor Elves are stumbling and running for all they are worth to get away from her light and Her.  What i found most delightful on this card was the faces on the little Elves as they crash down the stairwell.  It's an -O. Beerfurth-artist card.  Questions?  Made in Germany as all his cards are.
