Full Color
Book
takes us to the Albany-Rensselaer-Troy
area of
New York State during some of the most exciting times to be trackside
in the last-of-steam and first-of-diesels days.
Join
photographer Gerrit Bruins as he records the action in vivid color on
the New
York Central, Delaware & Hudson, Boston & Maine, and
Rutland
Railroad when
steam and early diesels worked side-by-side during this period of
transition.
New York Central photos make up about two-thirds
of this book. There is a good balance between NYC steam and diesel
with more passenger trains than freight trains.
The Delaware
& Hudson makes up almost the rest of the book followed by two
pages of Boston & Maine and two pages of Rutland.
This
book is a fascinating trackside look at the Albany, New York, area
between 1949 and 1974. See a wide range of diesels and the last of
steam, along with circus
trains, unusual equipment moves, some experimental paint schemes and
more.
Hardbound
w/dust jacket, 8.5x11, 128 pages, 200+ all color photographs
with captions, printed on quality semi-glossy paper for the best in
photographic reproduction.
